Hey Guys,
I've been having some trouble with the Text-to-Speech User Dictionary where you get to alter the pronunciation of certain words using the IPA (international phonetic alphabet). I found out about it at http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2009/07/text-to-speech_-_user_diction a.html It looks like that's a blog post for Captivate 4 though. I'm using 7. Here's the question: I had a TTS file where "Paul" was mispronouncing "lawful" in an awful way. I was able to get it fixed in the User Dictionary by using the IPA. Here's a screenshot:
I hit save and close but then when I went into Captivate 7 and re-generated the TTS, Lawful was still mispronounced. Did I miss a step? Does it work differently in 7 than it did in 4? Has anybody used this or seen a blog post with step by step directions for the dictionary editor? Any help would be appreciated. TTS saves us a lot of money vs a paid narrator but sometimes it can sound a cruddy. I'm hoping that using this editor will make it that much better so the customer doesn't feel like they're sacrificing quality for cost.
As always, thanks in advance.
