I'm using Captivate 6 and Flash 5.5. I wanted to make a certificate option that looked more like my e-learning course rather than the vanilla certificates included in the widget. So I took to the Flash source file included with Captivate, saved it as a new filename so as not to damage the original, and edited the look of one of the more useless (to us) certificate styles. I only deleted the background, added my own and then moved around the variable text boxes that were already there. Didn't add anything else or take anything away. I publish the SWF and insert it as a widget into my Captivate project. What I see in the preview/settings window is the standard certificate widget properties dialog, only much smaller and with a bunch of text layered on top of other text, misaligned boxes and the print and next buttons inside this window.
So is there a trick to publishing the widget SWF after making changes in Flash? I even followed steps to create a new widget from Captivate and checked the publish settings that used when it creates a new Flash file and then copied those publish settings to my edited FLA and still had the same results. What am I missing? I'm aware I can create a certificate from scratch with a little work, but I need to create a few styles that will be reused multiple times...so I need them accessible via the widget.
