Problem: Video on slide one continues to play in the background, even after user has navigated to another slide. This only happens on a fresh reload of the page.

Has anyone else had this problem, or found a solution?

If you refresh the page and start over, the problem doesn't happen. But on the first page load it always seems to happen.

Here is a link to the module I am working with. If you let the video play for a couple seconds on the first slide, and then click a navigation link to another slide, you will still hear the audio from the first slide playing.

I have changed some of my customised buttons but it still shows the old buttons which I have deleted from the buttons folder and does not show my new buttons. This is after restarting Captivate and restarting the computer.

I received Captivate and PowerPoint files from a client to make changes to, and when I relink the powerpoint file into captivate, all the text using the font "Shadows Into Light" shift down about 10 to 20 pixels. The only thing I can do is move all the text up in PowerPoint and reimport it.

Thing is, others are not having this problem as I am with the same files.

I did a test and created a new Captivate file and imported a new powerpoint file. The powerpoint file had a box with text in it using Arial and centered the text vertically. I duplicated the box, changed the font to "Shadows Into Light" and put them next to each other. I imported that file into Captivate 5.5, and sure enough, the "Shadows Into Light" font moves down.

Can anyone recreate this and find a solution to it? You can download the font for free online.

I have all of the links to download it, but it keeps asking for a serial number/redemption code and I HAVE NONE. No email with a code, it is nowhere in my account (looked under products, purchases, order history, everything). I'm going in circles on this stupid site - none of the troubleshooting docs are for my issue. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to get my serial number? I have followed every troubleshooting document on this bloody site and none of them address this issue nor are very helpful. Chat is unavailable (WHY????) and no phone number to call customer support (again, WHY????). My only option is to post in this forum and keep my fingers crossed that someone can answer me?? That's kind of ridiculous. I'm very angry right now. I purchased a product and I expect to be able to use it - it has been two days now and I still can't use it.

Publishing to HTML5 only

I have a help and resources popup on every slide in my course that is revealed by clicking a button. It's just a simple "show" AA that also pauses the slide. Closing the popup is also a simple "hide" AA that also continues the slide. I have another button that pauses the slide on the last frame so it doesn't automatically advance. The issue that I'm running into is that if the learner is at the end of the slide and opens and closes the popup, it advances the learner to the next slide due to the continue command associated with the Close button.

Does anyone have any solutions that would keep the learner on the current slide if they are at the end of the slide? Remember we're publishing HTML5 only.

LMS communication error in Citrix environment

I've recently deployed a module created with Captivate 8 into Kallidus LMS and am finding a number of users are receiving the LMS communication error when they attempt to launch the module:

I've tested the module on our test and production sites, as well as on Scorm Cloud and was able to replicate the error across all three. The issues seems to mostly affect our users who access the internet from within a Citrix environment - as far as I can tell users accessing the internet directly are not experiencing the issue.

I was wondering whether anyone had experienced the same issue, and if there were any known fixes?

I just installed cp8 for test. The rollover caption is always disabled (with gray color), no matter what kind of slides. Is this function lock for trial version?

Hello everybody. Is it possible not to have the Captivate video automatically running but to manually change slides, better if with buttons? I could not find how to do it. That is because I would like to use interactions and if the video runs as ususal, when the timing of the slide is expired it is no longer possible to click on the interactions buttons and, on the contrary, if one wants to skip the slide before the time ie expired, they must click on the forward button and then on the play button, too complicated! So the best way would be to have a manula transition setup. Could you help me with this? Many thanks. Maurizio

Hi,

I have a problem with some smart shape buttons. I have created a 60x60 pixel smart shape button. Over and down states are disabled. The button is transparent and has no stroke although this doesn't seem to be the cause as I have tried adding colour and a stroke and the issue is the same. All works as I would expect, the button reveals the TOC, in preview but after publishing to html5 and running in IE11 the button only works when you click in the green area of it (see image below). When you try and click in the red area nothing happens. Does any one have any ideas what could be causing this and how I can fix it?

I'm trying to download the Reviewer on a laptop and it's not downloading as a program. I can bring it up by the file link, but it doesn't show up as a program anywhere and I need for it to run as an Administrator. Please help, I have 2 more PCs that I have to do this to.

I have created two identical assessments (apart from the questions). When users exit the POST assessment on the Quiz Reporting slide, the LMS tracks their completion and interaction data. However, when users exit the PRE assessment on the Quic Reporting slide, the LMS does NOT track their completion nor interaction data. I've configured all Quiz Preferences identically. Is there something else I'm missing?

For some odd reason the first 9 questions of many of the quizzes we generated are rendered in HTML5 with a width smaller than what is show in Captivate.

* We use the MCQ master slide to publish our questions

* The width of the Progress indicator is 110

* Oddly enough, the actual questions originally show different width values

* I change the width to 110 on one of the questions and click the menu to 'Apply to all items of this type'

* Ok... it appears that they all are changed to the same width

* Publish the quiz. Questions 1-9 still show an incorrect size. e.g., the div width for question #1 is 86 and all the other params appear to be consistent with what is set in Captivate

I am trying to install captivate 5.5 on a machine and keep running into exit code 7. The program doesn't write any installation logs so the only thing I have is the error log you get when it doesn't install correctly, any idea on what might be the issue?
